About This Tour

As an administrative and office centre, Jakarta has many tall buildings that mostly serve as offices. The area of such a function is along Jalan Thamrin. Each building and skyscraper presents its own story. In this route, we will discover the stories of the Kadel Tunnel, Thamrin Nine, BCA Tower, Grand Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia, Bundaran HI, Wisma Nusantara, Sinarmas Building, and Sarinah. Enjoy the urban nuance of this metropolitan area by walking along its lively, well-maintained sidewalks. In the Kendal Tunnel, you will be amazed by the murals adorning its walls, the result of a collaboration between Indonesian and German artists. We'll also walk past the famous malls, GI and PI, which retain history despite their modernity. Not to mention the legendary Bundaran HI, home to the iconic Selamat Datang (Welcome) Statue. Sitting at the top of the monument in the centre of the roundabout, the statue depicts two youths carrying flowers to welcome guests. As the final destination of the walk, we will visit Sarinah. It is famously known as the first shopping centre in Indonesia and the first skyscraper in Jakarta, established in 1966 by Soekarno. You may explore the stores inside the building and get yourself some authentic Indonesian souvenirs.
