As the city where people from everywhere come to live, Jakarta is home to many housing developments, as well as the tall buildings of business and administration. One of the best housing areas we will explore is Menteng. In this area, we will find Suropati Park, the Diponegoro Statue, the Bappenas building, the Declaration of Independence Museum, Obama’s School, and Menteng Park. Get yourself prepared for this joyous walk! Good housing almost always provides great parks. We will visit several parks on this walk. Suropati Park will let you not only enjoy the greenery and flowers but also learn about ASEAN, as it features monuments to the 6 founding countries of ASEAN. The Diponegoro Statue is also surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers, allowing us to study the history while enjoying the attractive flowers. There are also historically significant buildings in this area, which we will visit. The Bappenas building has been there since 1925, the school with a little Obama statue in the front, and the museum that tells the story of how Indonesians retrieved our independence, are where we will fill ourselves with precious stories. Ending at Menteng Park, you may rest your feet and breathe the fresh air in the middle of Jakarta.
