About This Tour
While not many people know the stories behind the busy area of Jatinegara, we will explore this area further. On this walk, we will find and learn about the station, Jakarta Gems Center, the Ex Kodim (Military District Command) 0505 Building, and several worship sites. We will also get many interesting restaurant recommendations in this area. Jatinegara's beauty might be more subtle and under-the-radar than that of other Jakarta areas. One such subtle gem is the Jatinegara station, which once had electric trams. Before Jatinegara, the station was called Meester Cornelis. Another hidden gem is the Ex Kodim 0505 Building, which is dense in historical value. Along this walk, we will take a look at a few of the praying sites in this area, such as Bio Shia Djin Kong and Al-Anwar Mosque. You may contemplate how such an underrated region values its diversity.
