Sacred Temple Tour
About This Tour
Despite being busy and filled with tall buildings, do you know that Cikini has tons of stories to explore? Inside the now-trendy scenes, there are plenty of histories to tell, and you will find out in this exciting walk. Where the past blends with the modern, in the walk of this area, we will visit the Cikini Post Office, the legendary coffee shop, Bakoel Koffie, (ex) Tan Ek Tjoean, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Kolam Renang Cikini, Tjanang Ice Cream, Cikini Academy, and Soebardjo's House. Being rich in culture and history, Cikini nowadays allows us to savour its appeal by walking along proper sidewalks. Make sure your camera is ready to capture the aesthetic of Cikini, be it the buildings with their architectural styles, the authentic coffee shops such as Bakoel Koffie, which has been around since the 1870s, or the legendary cuisines you can enjoy along the way. Ending at Achmad Soebardjo's House, we will see a house that contains the history of Indonesia's independence and post-independence. Despite some damage, the house's classical exterior and interior make it look magnificent. Achmad Soebardjo himself was Indonesia's first foreign minister, busy with diplomacy, especially after the proclamation.
